Wonder Girls’ US Tour was a huge success!

On their last concert of the Wonder Girls World Tour in the United States, the girls broke down to tears, probably too sad that their biggest concert tour ever has finally reached the end, or simply relieved that they have finally made it through. They said goodbye to their hardcore fans in America with overflowing tears of happiness and gratefulness for their support.

Their last concert was in Hawaii and even when there were a delayed back in June due to one of the members, Sunye’s tragic loss of (her dearest mother passed away), the girls still able to made it through successfully with two shows held in Honolulu at Pipeline Café.

The concert had managed to portray all different sides of the Wonder Girls and each of the member’s characteristics – which exactly what their fans needed. They want to get to know more of Wonder Girls. They are indeed the biggest Korean wave as yet.

The girls and JYP himself said to the media that they would not have made it without supports from many people, especially their fans and crews that have been working hard with them. But I bet this is not the last of the Wonder Girls glory, there sure to be more of them coming!

Won Bin made a hit with his new action thriller movie Ahjusshi (English title is The Man From Nowhere)

It was reported that the movie, Ahjusshi or the title in english – The Man From Nowhere, managed to beat out movies that were released around the same time like Inception, Salt, Toy Story 3 in the local cinemas in South Korea, making it able to take the number one slot at the box office listing with 1 million admittances in just a week of release! I guess South Koreans are very supportive of their own entertainment industry and probably the movie was really good. Korean action movies typically are of international scale and undeniably a real competition for the international screens on the local cinemas.

There were many sold outs and it’s even hard to get the ticket for the movie. Somehow, reminding me of how difficult it was to get Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ticket last time. This may not be Won Bin’s first movie but it is Won Bin’s first lead roles, even after his hit blockbusters like Taegukgi and Mother. He had always been the supporting actor (which seems like one of the main actors and that’s how well he stands out). Won Bin is wise to choose an action packed movie as his main role debuting film, which he’s really good at in the first place.

In the film, Won Bin featured as a loner guy, Tae Shik who rarely goes out and lives in isolation. However, when his next-door neighbor, a young girl was kidnapped by gangsters, he was drawn out from solitary life to help her, and that’s when the actions begin.

When asked by the media on who is the most popular and likable member among guys, all of them have their fingers on Soo Young. They said that Soo Young is so friendly and treat most guys good enough to make them fall for her! Oh my, talk about being friendly and flirty at the same time.

When asked on the same question, Soo Young replied, “This thing has been bothering me a lot. I mean, all of us never really had any serious relationship because we’re too busy with work and all.” She continued with a nervous laugh, “Maybe I am popular with men but most of them only thought of me as their noona(big sister) or younger sister, no more than that. I try to keep that kind of relationship when it comes to men.”

Soo Young also added, “Well, I don’t really fancy the idea to get involve with a guy just because I’m treating him good and well. I will probably only accept men who know and understand my mind and my way of thinking once we’ve become good friends.”

It looks like things couldn’t be better for Park Jaebeom, also known as Jay Park, who has gone solo.

Due to his controversial statement on the internet last year (2009), Park Jaebeom’s career seem to be a little too near the edge. The failure of JYP Entertainment to clean up the mess had pushed Park to withdraw from his former group while on the rise – the popular South Korean male group 2PM.

And now, Park Jaebeom is now going solo with whole new hit album which had sold out –fast. Park Jaebeom solo album titled Count on Me was released on the 13th of April 2010, showed record breaking sale with almost 27000 album units were sold in just 3 days!! Eventually making Park topping the local chart again, even without 2PM.

A representative of Warner Music Korea said, “The first batch of 20 thousand albums was gone in one day via pre-order sales. The additional 20 thousand albums are also being sold very rapidly in retail shops. We had to quickly manufacture 10 thousand more because of additional orders. As a result, 50 thousand albums have been released on the market within three days.” Seems like Jay Park’s future is looking all bright and shiny as solo singer.

It seems like Park is climbing up dramatically…It seems like many Koreans are still supporting him all the way. Everyone makes mistakes right? and that comment he left on his Myspace years ago saying that he hate Koreans is something that wayyyyy back in time. He wasn’t even debuting at that time. But when even that proves that it is NOT the end of Park Jaebeom – we’ll be seeing his shining star once more in the future!

It looks like promotional stills for ‘Almost Kiss’ by Kim Hyung Joong and Jung Su Min is finally out!

I really got confused with the title. Previously I was certain it was Mischievous Kiss, and now it’s Playful Kiss. If I wasn’t mistaken the direct translation from the Korean text read Mischievous Kiss but anyhow – the casting still remains the same and all Kim Hyung Joong’s fan has nothing too worry about except for a smooth night sleep after you’ve seen this picture!! Kyaa~~~

Yup, it’s the almost kissing pose for Kim Hyung Joong and Jung Su Min’s new drama Playful Kiss, an adaptation from Japanese manga ‘Itazura na Kiss’. It’s another teen romantic comedy, much like the famous series Boys Over Flower which is schedule to air this coming 1st September. Wonder if Kim Hyung Joong will make this a bigger hit than his former hit drama Boys Over Flower which is also an adaptation from Japanese manga.

This almost kiss pose…don’t you think it’s lovely and sweet? ^_^

The still was published in My Daily and in the news, it was reported that the picture was taken in a studio situated in Seoul The drama staffs seem to be having fun with the photo shoots and they tried urging the two actors to lean into one another and spent considerable time detailing on how the almost kissing still should be taken, such as where is the right place for Kim Hyung Joong and Jung Su Min’s fingers and arms should be place.

It seems like since Park Jaebum’s withdrawal from 2pm, this singing and dance group have lost a little of fan’s support. How true can this be? Well, first, there seems to be less news on 2pm and no much of interesting stuff on the members to be on the hot topics and talk-a-bout. What’s left is a career that has to go on, and with that 2pm have came up with a symbolic of an EP titled Don’t Stop Can’t Stop.

Can they make with just this?

Don’t Stop Can’t Stop is an EP consisting six songs that were released last April, betting all of their best on their hit song ‘Without You’, and this time it will be showing the different side of 2pm. However, even with all this hard work and alternative approach since the withdrawal of their leader, Park Jaebum, there wasn’t much of an impact onto the Korean Music industry and everything looks a little too dull. Many are in the opinion that 2pm may be at risk of losing popularity. Even many of their fans has stopped being members of their fan club due to their dissatisfaction with the management of 2pm and Jaebum’s withdrawal from 2 pm.

It looks like 2pm is taking the toll of the failure of JYP Entertainment in managing the issue related to Jaebum previously. We don’t want to see the end of 2pm. It’ll be a total waste for a group with talented and high potential members to break up just like that.

No more childish roles, no more that girl-next-door image. South Korean actress Moon Geun Young has started testing her skills into more mature, dramatic and challenging roles. Not long ago, she had accepted the role in Cinderella’s Sister, her latest and new drama and it seems like her role in that drama marks her very beginning into adulthood of acting business. Moon Geun Young has changed into a more mature and elegant woman, bearing a babyface. Her effort in this brilliant transition so far has been a great step for her in expanding her career and acting skill.

Her latest work got me surprised even more. Moon Geun Young decided to have a go in a role as Alice in a stage play titled Closer, which makes it much harder and challenging. Frankly speaking, stage play is tougher than acting in a movie or a drama, because you’re not allowed to make single obvious mistake. In the stage play, Alice (acted by Moon Geun Young) is a stripper with extroverted personalities and provocative nature having a complicated relationship with a writer named Dan, acted by Eom Ki-joon. In the stage, Moon had to put on advanced makeup with sexy highlights while smoking and kissing are part of that role. It just seems a little weird having to imagine the good old simple girl like Moon Geun Young can act this sexy and seductive role to perfection.

The play opened on August 6, and then put on a performance on the 10th for its press call. The theater is expected to run until August 10th.

We all know about Hero Jaejoong, member of DBSK new drama and no, it’s not Korean drama, it’s a Japanese drama. I guess he must be making quite a reputation to have gotten himself a role in a Japanese drama. His role is one among five main roles in the drama titled Hard To Say I Love You or ‘Sunao Ni Narenakute’ in Japanese language.

It was reported that Jaejoong didn’t have a hard time in playing his first role in a Japanese drama and that he’s quick to befriend all the other cast who are all professional Japanese actors like Eita, Ueno Juri, Tetsuji Tamayama and Megumi Seki. However, thing stirs up high each time he tried to act out a romantic scene – Jaejoong blushes! And he blushes hard enough till his face turns pink. How cute!

In an interview when asked about how he felt when acting the scene of silently liking Haru, acted by Ueno Juri, Jaejoong casually replied, “I feel so embarrassed when facing a girl whom I can’t express how I really feels, honest. During rehearsal my face blushes like mad as if I’m really in love with Haru!Haha.”

Wonder if that laugh was just a cover up. *winks* Anyway, gonna grab my hands on that new drama soon as I can. Anyone have seen it to tell how was it?

Florida is actually a fan of G Dragon, the rapper from Big Bang.

It’s been hitting the Korean Music and Entertainment Industry – this thing about plagiarism, copying other people’s songs and music and stuffs. It had even affected one of Big Bang singer, G Dragon (real name Kwon Ji Yong) who was claimed to have plagiarizing American rapper, Florida’s music. However, the unusual part is that even after the chaotic rumors about G Dragon plagiarizing Flo-rida’s works and songs, now came this. There were even rumors saying that Flo-rida actually have taken initial steps onto G Dragon for the act but guess things won’t turn out that way anymore. Flo-rida had a change of mind after finishing his concert in Korea, instead of cursing and warning G Dragon, he had been praising the singer and thinks that he’s awesome!

I has gotten a little more confusing when the rapper actually invited G Dragon as special guest for his concert in Korea and even duet with him, singing the song ‘Heartbreaker’ which was the main subject of the huge controversy last year.

“I came to Korea for the sake of working with G Dragon. He’s got a lot of American influence and uses a lot of American words in his songs. I personally like ‘Heartbreaker’ and yeah, I’m a G Dragon fan!”, told Flo-rida to the Korean media. Hail to monetary publicity! These people are making money with this kind of acts, but peace is better than controversy right?
